Alcohol dehydrogenases and pyruvate decarboxylases of plants
Enzymology: purification of enzymes, from their natural source or cloned and expressed in E. coli, and characterization of their substrate specificity, kinetics and mechanism. At present I am focusing on microbial enzymes of metabolism of aromatic compounds, specifically cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase, nitroaromatic reductase and hydroxylaminobenzoate lyase.
