Annual Agricultural/Environmental Symposium

On May 3, 2002, Cook College/NJAES sponsored the First Annual Agriculture and Environment Symposium. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) hosted the event in its Public Hearing Room at 401 East State Street in Trenton.

The focus of this first symposium was "Nutrients and Pesticides-Tools, Research, and Implementation." Welcoming remarks by Cook College's Executive Dean, NJDEP's Commissioner, the Secretary of Agriculture and the President of the New Jersey Farm Bureau celebrated a burgeoning partnership between the environmental and agricultural communities and the agencies which oversee them, while highlighting the need to remember the peculiar concerns of each community. Speakers and panels from varied agencies and organizations gave presentations.
