Flower designs in Holland have recently taken a different turn. Many new concepts
have been developed by the Dutch designers.

However, one of the Dutch designs from the past is the Biedermeier, in which
flowers may be placed in the shape of a beehive or cone, very tightly packed
in a
mass.
This one was developed many years ago. There are no design lines, only a shape.
Flowers in Biedermeier arrangements may be placed in concentric rings (left),
or in spirals (right).
An offshoot of the Biedermeier is the arrangement of a Holiday Tree, two examples of which are shown above. The trees are made of cut sprigs of Boxwood with stems in floral foam, and holiday decorations. Trees of this type last for a long time, sometimes months, if the foam is kept moist.
