Research Interests
As an field and forage crops agronomist my research and education interests are related to crop management and systems integrating agronomic row and forage crops such as corn, soybeans, small grains, and legume and grass hay, forage and pasture. I have evaluated and developed comprehensive nutrient management plans that also involve these crops in a livestock enterprise as well as having been involved in pest management considerations. My current thrust is to evaluate current and alternative crops as a source for biomass energy. Related to this is the evaluation of energy inputs and outputs in agriculture.
