Research Interests
The production of plants in controlled environments is the focus of my research program. We are interested in the development of economically sound growing systems that will positively impact on the greenhouse industry. To that end research is being conducted on the influence of environmental factors on yield of several crop species. In particular, plant growth models are being developed relating yield to light and temperature. The success of these models will depend on the depth of our understanding of how these environmental factors influence growth at various stages in plant development and on how these factors interact with each other.
