The Rutgers New Use Agriculture and Natural Products Program (NUANPP)
is seeking a scientist to serve as the natural products chemistry team leader. The candidate is expected to develop a strong
research program in natural products chemistry in support of the goals and objectives of NUANPP; participate in the teaching
programs in the Plant Biology & Plant Pathology Department; participate in outreach programs that link NUANPP to NJ state
agriculture and to the larger agricultural community.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in pharmacognosy, medicinal chemistry, food science, natural products
chemistry, or other related field. Must have at least five years of post-doctoral or equivalent research experience in
natural products. This individual must have experience in compound isolation, purification, bio-directed fractionation,
analytical chemistry, HPLC, LC/UV/MS, and NMR. The successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to participate
in and manage interdisciplinary programs, documented evidence of productivity (in terms of publications, patents or
grants) and ability to interact well with other scientists and staff. The individual must have the capability to
generate significant external funding.
