- Each greenhouse zone is an individual controlled environment having floor and overhead heating, fan ventilation, supplemental lighting, automatic irrigation, shade screening, humidity control and CO2 monitoring.
- The maximum achievable consistent temperature in the greenhouse during the coldest winter months is 75oF (24oC). The maximum consistent cooling during the hottest summer months is outside ambient temperature. On low humidity summer days a 4oF drop below outside ambient temperature is possible.
- The environment in each greenhouse zone is computer controlled and records of environmental conditions are maintained for further analysis.
- The six containment zones provide level #1 containment for advanced research and engineering.
- The 14 growth chambers provide complete environmental control. Some of the chambers can provide temperatures as low as 10 centigrade and light levels as high as 1200 umol . s-1 m-2. The growth chambers are located in the headhouse and are rented out on a monthly basis.
